I actually served in The Dolphin for one evening, I was sent over to back up a relief manager.

It would help if they put the right captions on. As I understand it New St Station (FIRST PICTURE SUPPOSEDLY) did not open till 1854, and anyway was never actually on New St. The picture is, however, dated 1849 and is of of New st , as it shows the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists building on the right. So it is wrong on two counts

I remember the entrance to the old New Street station, wasn't it next to the Queens Hotel in Stephensons Place?
