Demolition work has started on the old Central Library.
The Architect Joe Holyoak (no relation) wanted it saved he said it was great Architecture. I think it was concrete crap. Prince Charles famously said it looked more like a place where books should be burned rather than stored.
A city Councillor once told me that The Central Library was never finished, I am not a bit surprised. So they replaced it with another pile of Garbage.

Perhaps Joe should sneak in while the "Concrete Crap" is being knocked down, a fitting end for the pair of them.

Very true I wouldn't give you a thank you for the old one or the next one.
What I can't understand is while the new library is cutting hours an staff to save a bob or two, it's funny the council can afford to spend millions more to demolish the old library and Conservatoire complex so that a whole new area can be rebuilt. Something doesn't seem quite right to me somehow.

I have only been in the New Library once and that was for Tea with the Lord Mayor, but I wouldn't want to use the place as a library.

Thanks Astwood my wife and I are both very satisfied in what we do, we try to make a difference. My wife serves on a Church Project committee and I am on the Parish Council, we can only do our best.
