I see the turnout for last nights election for a new PCC only had a 10% turnout. I suppose the 90% will be the main people to moan about the new man in the office.
He was on central news, said he could understand the low turnout ,when this government introduced this new idea they never gave the public enough information on the post ,half the people don't know what the job is, thats half the reason for people not voting ,and it's the wrong time of the year to hold any kind of election, people are still on holiday.
Hi Jo as for the wrong time of year, no choice there. The last one Bob Jones Died. Having served on a police committee and heard the thoughts of senior officers on the office of commissioner I know that most of them supported the idea as the new man/woman could be held accountable, also members of the public would be able to meet with this person. Previous to this we had the watch committee. Can anyone tell me if they ever knew of anyone on this committee or when they ever met.
I hear what your saying ,but only putting down what the elected commisioner was telling the reporter on central today, maybe I didnt put it over as well as he did,but that was the gist of it.

I understand that too Jo, but he has only been in office for less than a day lets hope he wakes up.
