As promised a few piccies taken at the rememberance day parade on Sunday in Brum..didn't take many of the parade but after it has ended all the official wreaths were taken to be placed inside the Hall of Memory including my own personal wreath in honour of my rellie Harry Froggett who died in November 1916 aged 21. I also put another card on the wreath for all those other brave men who gave their all for this county..have to say that seeing my wreath alongside all the others in the Hall of Memory was one of the proudest days of my life.

My wreath outside the Hall of Memory before being taken in.

I remember the last bit of the war ,going down the air raid shelter's in the middle of the night, cold and half asleep , people who had been bombed, walking from lozells to our area for water, after the bomb's destroyed there main's ,bombed building's ,queueing for hours for your rationing books ,air raid pratice at infant's school, and looking around with mates hoping to find bit's of shrapnel.

Don't think they had much choice lyn ,everybody seemed to help each other more in those day's ,every one seemed to be a good neighbour ,not like today half the people dont know there next door neighbours name.

Half the trouble is ,people are dashing around just trying to keep there head above water ,and got no time for anyone else, life is one big struggle for a lot of people.
