Yes they kept the farms going ,there was also women who worked cutting down trees and replanting young ones ,cant remember what they were called, but kept the supply of wood required to keep things going, some of those women had never been in the countryside before ,it must have been one experience they never forgot.

I suppose the women who cut down trees could have been called LumberJills

In my humble opinion, I really think that remembrance day, the poppies and all that goes with it is being taken up by more and more people every year.
Taking into account this is the big anniversary year of course.

Heard on shropshire radio ,since 1945 there has only been 1 year when no one in the services was killed, some where in the world ,fighting in a conflict, will they ever learn the futility of war.

Yes Jo war is futile, yes they will learn. But wars will never stop while there are billions to be made from armaments.
There are more than enough bullets produced every year to kill every person on the planet.

I can well believe it ,these people who make and sell to anyone who has the money cannot have any morals at all, especially when you hear of women and children being shot down.

personally i dont think they ever will learn.. wars and battles have been going on for many hundreds of years...if the world stopped making armaments they would only go back to the bow and arrow and spears...its a shame but its fact as its impossible to see a world that is totally in harmony...well i cant see it anyway

One thing that is a fact. If you take all of the wars going back thousands of years, if all those millions of people hadn't died including civillians. this planet would have been overpopulated many years ago. I strongly believe that many wars have been generated purposely for this reason.

As some wars are supposedly futile, it would be a reasonable conclusion.
