I don't drink very much these days, but I do believe a pub is a very important community centre for an area.

I had to walk a mile to get there and, of course, about the same or slightly longer to get home.
Unless I chose to walk home backwards, which meant it was the same both ways, as was the view.

The best pub in our area closed about 2years ago ,we were suppose to have a supermarket there ,but we recently found out now they have pulled out,so it's just being vandalised ,while the council decide what to do with it.

A lot of people are house drinkers these days so they dont
care if the pubs are shutting

I heard on telly some time back ,more business deals are done over a pint, than are ever done in the board room.

Nowadays its probably done between snorts of cocaine. Certainly many of the business decisions of industry today seem to be carried out by someone high on something

On my own small scale, I would never discuss business in the pub or over a drink.
