thank you mr volty...here is an update...please note that mayfield is a member of me other forum....looking good so far.

update on positive feedback.

very pleased with the feedback since the mails article and i am feeling more hopeful that this memorial will once again be displayed.

Chris Taft from the postal museum and archives is having a meeting with senior royal mail managers on Thursday and will be bringing this up.

Greg Ball from the war memorials trust has emailed me and given me contact details.

one of our members MAYFIELD quite by chance has a meeting soon with MP and Erdington councillors and will also be bringing up the subject of the memorial.

Peter Armitage MBE from the Tamworth delivery office has contacted the person within the royal mail who is reponsible for the post office memorials at the NMA in Alrewas and is waiting for a reply..i have Peters tel. number so i will be contacting him for any udates there.

Well SB this is what I am now beginning to think or at least hope it's one thing showing an interest it's another sticking yer neck out and actually doing something....if it does come to blows as to who gets it i shall be ready to intervene[Hammers]

well i shouldnt have mentioned about coming to blows...this morning i had a phone call and was told by the royal mail they would love the memorial at the NWA in alrewas and this afternoon i had another call saying that the director of the royal mail said it can go on the outside of erdington sorting office which would have been my first choice anyway...after all these 7 men lived..worked and walked the streets of erdington and one of them is buried at st barnabas church so what better and fitting place to re dedicate it...things have to be confirmed yet but i am very happy..job done[Skipping Happy]
