edited.....the factory you see to the left of the pub is still there and use to be the well known Dennisons watch and watch strap co.

It has only just clicked with me that the Dennisons you are talking about are well known to me as watchcase manufacturers.
As far as I know they never made movements but they made a lot of cases for a range of well known brands. I have at least one of their cases. One I am holding now is a gold filled pocket watch case marked inside the back cover "STAR, Dennison Watch Case Co. Ltd" and houses a 1931 7J Waltham USA movement. On the back of the inner dust cover it says "English Make, This Case Guaranteed To Wear 10 Years"

Wasn't The Beehive a big shop, around the Dale End area?

It's such a shame to see the beehive looking like that, when a kid use to run errand for an old lady in our street ,every friday night 2 milk stout's from the outdoor she gave me 3 pence for going .After getting a bit older had a few pints in there .There use to be an entry from terrace road to the side of the beehive ,probably gone by now.

Of course far be it from me to suggest something dodgy, but it's amazing how many derelict pubs get burned down.
