Wartime Mortuary In Council House
This is the place where Brummies used to chat about Birmingham old and new along with anything else that interests us.
We have Quizzes, Pizzas, Local History, News, Politics, Wedding Cake, Plum Pudding, Champagne, Easter Eggs and, above all, Respect for our fellow members.
My wife and I have been down there, under the Council House in the old Mortuary rooms is the Emergency center for The Birmingham resilience Team. All linked to the CCTV cameras etc for the Emergency services in case of a major disaster. It's a mass of computers and communications.http://www.birminghamprepared.gov.uk/
I have worked down there. A very strange place it is. It is on a half level with windows at ground level so is well lit by natural light. As you walk past take a look through the balusters and bomb netting.
