It should be a crime to not report a crime at the time.

I'm all for not letting criminal children off too lightly Voltman. but it would be "rather" over the top to prosecute someone years later for not reporting an offence committed on him when he was 12 years old (or whatever). I never thought much of Tarbuck , but then I can't say I liked many of the TV variety presenters - The slimy Bruce forsyth reminded me of Uriah Heep

I have to say that if anyone commits these Vile crimes they should feel the whole weight of the law. I also believe that the accused remain anonymous until proven guilty. I also think that there should be a time limit on such things. how in Gods name can anyone prove their innocence after 30-40 years.
Something else which concerns me is that the BBC are now waiting for compensation claims, if that's not inviting more accusations I don't know what is.
I am just waiting for the adverts...

well i have to say that since JS was accused i am now totally bored with it all...i believe that stuart hall (who has admitted it ) and rolf harris were arrested in the past couple of weeks and now jimmy tarbuck and i still maintain what ive always said..so much time has now elapsed that proving them innocent or quilty will be difficult..seems to me that most of the showbiz world of the 60s and 70s were at it if the accusations are true...im thinking of running a book on who is next...

from what I saw years ago, just about any group who played on a stage attracted their groupies, Most of them younger. There must be loads of people just waiting for their door to be kicked in.

When first arrested Stuart Hall was adamant that he was innocent, and now he's pleaded guilty. What man would admit to that if it wasnt true.

As I have said before, I was around in the 60's myself and to be honest at 17 it's only the law that says there is a difference between a 15 year old and a 16 year old girl and looking back then I defy anybody to pick the underage girls out at a nightclub lets face it they were all 18. I'm not defending people like JS (who will never be guilty) but I don't think most of these men that are being charged went out looking for underage girls and I have no doubt at the time most of them lied about their age. Now all these years later I think there is a good chance a few of them are just looking for 5 minutes of fame (or notoriety) and perhaps the chance to handle a payout or payoff.

Maybe these allegations were reported at the time and were brushed aside as we now know they were with JS.

Maybe if that is true the officials from that time should be arrested. they were judging the cases if they dismissed them.
