Prisoners not to get vote.

Whoopee Do
With our Namby Pamby Politicians, I am surprised prisoners don't stand for MPs, at least we know some of them would steal from us.

I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left

I think prisoners can stand to be an MP, Bobby Sands stood in 1981 and was elected.

Yes Phil i think you are right. It would seem that theonly people disqualified are:
members of the police forces
members of the armed forces
civil servants and judges
people who are subject of a bankruptcy restrictions order in England or Wales or a debt relief restrictions order
people who have been adjudged bankrupt in Northern Ireland
people who have had their estate sequestrated in Scotland

We could perhaps get round it by making any criminal pay large damages to their victims. In most cases this would probably bankrupt them, and then they could be excluded
