It's seems the grandmothers partner might be involved as he has gone missing. It's a strange world, full of strange people.

Its a sad sick world Phil, this kind of thing happens far too often. Even when people are CRB checked it means nothing. This is why I am 100% in favour of the death sentence, there hasd to be a credible deterrent.

No SB, you can't have the death penalty because once in a while an innocent person might die.
Far better that many, many innocent people and children should die at the hands of murderers.

I have to agree with Volty here, just think about the Bridgewater four. Under the old rules for hanging offences they would have been strung up, being found innocent years later wouldn't have done them a lot of good. I knew Jimmy Robinson, yes he was a bit of a lad, but a murderer no, it was obvious to me that he was innocent from the start, but I didn't know the other lads so I just thought he might have been involved.

Yes SB I do realise he was being sarcastic, but my sentiments were serious. I would rather all those convicted for murder did a life sentence (50 years) so at least if some of them were later to found innocent they would still be alive.

Its not so much Sarcasm, but Volty does like you to think about what he posts. I think.

I see it as playing with numbers. The government gets pissed off with another country and send us off to die by the thousand in foreign lands. While back at home a few people are indignant if some "bit of a lad" gets put down in the vetinary sense for involvement in murder.
I think the scale of innocent demise in pointless wars makes any death penalty mistakes pale into insignificance.

Phil,
If you can't stand the thought of some moron getting the chop for mixing with a bad crowd you must surely accept that when the moron does it a second time he seals his own pathetic fate.

The death penalty should be brought back if only to rid us of predators and repetitiously murderous morons. Forget the barely perceptible deterrent value, I doubt it has any effect on either morons or predators.

If the death penalty was applicable for hanging with a bad crowd, then they would have hung me years ago. Just because you hang with them you don't have to be like them. As I said though in Jimmy's case I thought that if he had been drawn into this through friends even if he took no part in the shooting then he would have been as guilty as the rest.

You might think so Denise but some people are very happy with prison life.
The trouble with locking murderers away is that at some time into their sentence some idiot in authority is going to let them out. Then in many cases they do it again, that's when we should terminate their existence.

I don't want the death penalty as either a detterrent or a punishment, just as a certain method of getting rid of people who have proven themselves to be dangerous to the rest of society. Or for looking at me funny.

I can only say and I repeat.
What would any of US say if children from our families (God Forbid) come to a sticky end at the hands of one of these sub normal, phsycopaths. Personally, I would gladly carry out the exectuion myself if it was possible.
Sod the prison reform lunatics and the CPS losers who let so many go when the Police are confident of a conviction.
Its time to bring the rule of Law back to our streets. if people can't play nice, Bin em off.
