I've found this address on the 1911 Census and wondered if anyone knew where it would have been or anything about it. The only info on the Census is that it had 9 rooms. Thanks.

Lynne, is the spelling correct, I would suggest it may have been somewhere around where Lea Hall Railway station is now.
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left

SB, thats how it is spelt on the Census. they filled that census in themselves. I didnt want to change it in case thats what it was called then. There was no Road to pinpoint where it was..

I don't think there was a Farm called Lea Hall Farm out Sheldon way, but I will take a look at the maps to check. There was however a Farm near Lea Hall when it was demolished in 1937 to make way for the station. This painting is titled a Farm near Lea Hall.
On the other hand there was a farm called Lea Hall Farm at Handsworth, see the b & w photo taken c1900.

Thanks Phil, I wouldnt think it was Handsworth, I dont know that side of town but the address says Yardley. I would love it to be the one in the painting..

Phil the Lea Hall area near us isn't in Sheldon, it would come under Kitts green. possibly Yardley but could even be out of that area. Yardley in those days was in Worcestershire.

I've just had another look at the Census and all I can add is that the Registration District is Solihull, Warwickshire.

Yes SB I know that, I only called it Sheldon to give the ladies some sort of bearing as they are both foriegners who come from somewhere over to the north of the city.
The only farms within striking distance of Lea Hall (the house) were
Glebe Farm
Outmoor Farm
Tile Cross Farm
Yardley Stud Farm
Church End Farm
Hillhouse Farm
Church Rd Farm
Malthouse Farm
Mackadown Farm.
There is no sight of a Lea Hall Farm, though it is entirely possible that one of those could have been known locally as Lea Hall Farm.

That may be because we were in warwickshire before it was changed to West midlands.
