For different countries to have different regimes would be very confusing.

It's complete garbage. Even the reports about it are usually confusing, often referring to "Winter Time" which doesn't exist, and calling Daylight Saving Time "Summer Time"
Ending daylight saving time (DST) should mean not deviating from local time to suit the duration of daylight.
Local time is derived from the sun. At any place on Earth, when the sun is at it's highest point in the sky, the time is mid-day.

As I understand it, DST was of some benefit to workers if they got longer evenings of daylight during the period of the year when the sun is up long before the start of the working day.
DST just borrows an hour from the morning daylight and puts it into the evening. It isn't anything at all to do with summer, unless we really do have seven months of summer.

If no one needs DST anymore, then the only logical thing to do is scrap it. It is not logical to adopt it permanently.
It is even less logical to do so because some jumped up Euro twat thinks it would be a good idea. This is exactly why the majority want the UK out of the EU.

Spain will be in an odd situation if they did adopt permanent DST, they are already permanently one hour ahead of the their local time, they are one hour ahead of us even though the Greenwich Meridien runs through their country.
And that is what it is really about, GMT. Europe seems to hate the idea that time is measured from a place in England.

Also, when did surveys become a democratic tool?

The sooner we get out the better ,and I personally don't want us to be an annex state to the rest of europe we can stand on our own two feet.

We keep hearing how this country would suffer if we came out of the EU. Rubbish I say, too many people have too much money tied up here to let it fail. It will be tight at first no doubt, but tell me when it hasn't been.

And because of the changes, largely originated by Thatcher, these people can easily move it out again, and may do so, particularly if morons like Johnson are allowed in the government. He and Rees Mog are an excellent confirmation that public schools are debasing the country
