Phil,
May I ask is your picture of an engine the 7 1/4" gauge model by the late Charles Simpson which is in the Birmingham Science Museum store, Duddeston {on the top shelf}

Yes thats the one, along with a few others. What a waste of a beautiful machine, Dollman Street stores are the cause of much acrimony between BMAG and those of us who really care about Birmingham's history and development. Half of our history is hidden away there only to be viewed a few days a year.

This option is only available to us because such a fuss was made by the public, even now because of the way exhibits are crammed in you still cant see half of them.

I don't have to tell you that machines like that need lots of care and maintenance which it is obviously not getting whilst stored away on a shelf somewhere.
