Fire at London Zoo

#1 by Voltman , Sat Dec 23, 2017 1:18 pm

An Aardvark has died in a fire at London Zoo. Fire crews prevented it spreading from the cafe and gift shop but it was well underway before a dog walker in Regents Park alerted the zoo staff.
What, no fire alarm?

Very sad but would an Aardvark be able to use a fire alarm?

A automatic fire alarm would have sensors that can detect fire, smoke and fumes long before a human.
Early detection means the fire is smaller when fire fighters turn up. Smaller fire means less damage and spread.
This fire was well under way before the human alarm was raised.

Fewer Aardvarks might have died.

Surely someone would have been on duty.
