Whilst I agree that most claims by prisoners should be just dismissed out of hand. We have to realise these people are in a situation where there every move and function is monitored and managed by others. They have no control over their environment or well being and have to accept what they are told.
If on the out they were to come up against the same obstacle or problem they would take care of it themselves, but where they are they have to allow other (often who have less idea) make decisions for them.
Are you saying that the prisoner who was crippled for life because of a misdiagnosis by the Prison Doctor was not entitled to anything?

Of courser not but I do suggest that a better monitoring system is found. There will always be genuine cases but I am sure many laugh at the system we have.

I'm sure that many laugh at the myriad of different systems we have in force throughout the country not just out prison system. I would name the Houses as Parliament of one such example. There are a lot more incumbents there who need a closes acquaintance with our penal system.

Perhaps it's time to start teaching honesty, morality and respect in the schools as plainly they are increasingly missing in our society today.

Are they not teaching this then, because we were certainly taught this at our school, but I suppose the staff have enough trouble today teaching the basic three R's. I fear also some of the modern teachers could do with a grounding in some of those virtues that you mention.

Fine words
Honesty, Morality, Respect.
One word cancels all three of these out every time.
