It amazes me that websites can be attacked in this manner every day of the week and nothing ever gets done about it, but a police site gets attacked and there is a prosecution in a flash. The other charges have probably been added so it doesn't look like the police are just looking after themselves.
I think the other charges are integral to the main charge and substantiate the evidence that a single person was responsible, although I don't understand the "flooding with data" bit. One would expect such a viable target to be secured against such a ploy. And, if they have to spend all their time investigating such attacks then wouldn't they be better off not having a website at all? I would go and have a look at their site but I fear I may open two or three pages at once and be accused of trying to bring down the government..... Sorry, Police Force..... Sorry, I did of course mean SOCA. Sorry, I obviously meant a useless unmonitored website. VM
