England v Scotland
This is the place where Brummies used to chat about Birmingham old and new along with anything else that interests us.
We have Quizzes, Pizzas, Local History, News, Politics, Wedding Cake, Plum Pudding, Champagne, Easter Eggs and, above all, Respect for our fellow members.
What is going wrong in this country, something must be when Scotland a part of the UK that is heavily subsidised by English tax payers can announce that they intend to abolish prescription charges while the coalition government here announce an increase that will raise our prescriptions up to £7.40. per item.
As well as getting free prescriptions, Scottish people receive free eye tests (compared to an English charge of around £19) and free ‘personal care’ in old age, while English pensioners have to pay full residential care costs if they own assets of more than £23,000.
To top it all, Scottish students pay no tuition fees, even if they attend a university in England. Students born south of the border face paying up to £9,000 a year.
I think you might be right SB. Phil - i thought you were having a brainstorm when i saw the heading on this thread you started, till I saw it wasn't about football.

There is nowt wrong with Scotland, except the people that live there, and I say that as a 50% Jock. No I jest when visiting I have always found them some of the most friendliest and welcoming people that you can find in the British Isle's.
