She has my sympathy been told it's very painfull and can last a long time in some cases.

yes jo and gra...it can be very nasty and long lasting..just hope she does not get any long lasting side effects that you can get as she already has many health issues already...

An  elderly lady, who was a friend of ours had shingles , she use to sit and cry with it when nobody was about.
