Wild Seas In Wales

Bet you would have got some good ones yesterday. I was in Cornwall years ago in a Gale force 8, it was lethal.

Crossed the irish sea in a force 8 gale ,many years ago ,I was never so pleased to see dry land,again

Personally, although I have been to Colwyn Bay a couple of times, forty years apart, I have no feelings for Colwyn Dead Beat Bay or their rotting pier.
On my last visit the "Fun Fair " was rusting into its concrete surroundings.

I find it sad to see an old pier disintegrate and be demolished, when it could so easily have been saved, but I don't expect the British Isles will be much affected by its deterioration, or its deliberate destruction by an over willing local council.

For me it is just one less reason to go to Colwyn, where the hell are we, Bay, leaving the count at about -9, so perhaps their council should re-consider their future income from tourism. Even a closed and collapsing pier is a sight to behold that exceeds anything else they have to offer, with the possible exception of the railway.
Just for fun one can always go on to Llandudno and die of depression, even though their pier is a fully functional tourist attraction. It beats doing the same at Colwyn, where it is infinitely easier and probably expected.

In this instance don't blame everything on the weather, Colwyn Bay Pier has a troubled history with very little chance of survival.
