hi den...just seen your post...charitys can be a very touchy subject...at the moment i am organising a christmas meet up for the members of another forum i am a member of..and as we always do on such meet ups we have a raffle with many prizes donated...i think that by asking folk to vote on which charity the monies should go to can cause all sort of problems as you have found out...what i do as organiser is think about it and then just say that if there are no objections the money raised will be going to so and so charity...so far after organising many meet ups i have never had anyone complain of the charity i have chosen...but i guess there is always a first time...

Lyn , I think what you say is right. some people just argue form the sake of it without any good reason if they can.
Denise. I would never try to tell anyone how to do their garden/allotment, as i am hopeless at it. Am just starting to try and tidy up the wilderness that is mine.,

Hi Lynn, yes I agree with you, last year decided on a charity and everyone went with it no problems.......was forced into a vote because of this joker.Grrrr.

As I say the thing that got to me was when the vote went against him he just put up this alternative thread.

70 members voted and his got five votes.......what a twit he is .

Denise I have had the same problem with the Waggon Christmas card.
It was meant to be for cancer research, but now I have had people asking me to put them on the card and they don't want so and so on the card- result- I 've scrapped it.
People are so petty and vain at times.

I have had the same sort of problem several times in the past. Especially when committees are involved.
The only way to organise things are to decide all rules beforehand and rigidly stick to them.

Just remember a Camel is a horse designed by a committee. SB
