New Laws Enacted Today

Have you heard about the new laws,

1. A prospective employer can not ask at an interview if you are healthy or fit enough to do the job. He also is not able to ask you if you have anybody at home who is ill or disabled and might require your attention whilst you are at work. if he asks questions of this nature and you don't get the job, you can sue him.

2. If you tell a joke at work and a third party overhears the joke who was not included in the conversation. If that person objects to the content of that joke. You can sue their employer.

This country has gone stark raving bonkers.

I have raised the question elsewhere,but if someone tells a joke on here of a dubious nature, are we liable on this forum if a guest or even one of the members object? I suppose when we say dubious it must mean discriminatory in nature, be it gender, sexuality, religious, or race. or one of the other many classes we can now discriminate against.

I think it is a good thing as sometimes so called jokes at work can be made as a form of bullying.

We are at work to work not make other people's lives a misery.

I think more to the point we should check the law whenever I can get to see a copy of it, because I don't think a disclaimer would be much protection.

I think these are mainly new employment laws, I merely voiced the fact that I wondered if they could be used in other scenarios such as Forums and other similar situations.

I always found that punching their stupid faces in was a pretty good deterrent to workplace bullies.
Along with electric shock treatment and murdering the coffee machine.
Since going self employed it hasn't been an issue, no one messes with contractors.
