There is quite an industry building around Electronic Cigarettes. using them is called "vaping". There are a variety of different flavoured liquids, many contain nicotine.
I recently met someone who is so into vaping that he had designed his own pipes and was trying to incorporate bigger batteries into them. He had some old emergency lighting Nicads off me, not a very safe approach to battery power at all.
