The Queens hospital was in Bath Row, and was later incorporated into the Queen Elizabeth in WW2. The buildings were then used as the Accident hospital (opened April fools day 1941) and demolished early 1980s

mike are you sure queens hospital was demolished because the info i have is that it was converted into student flats..just took a street walk down bath row and im sure its still there..if you do a right at the junction of wheeleys lane onto bath row the building i am thinking of is just on the left...here is a print of the hospital to compere with the building i think maybe still there at bath row

ta volty just had a look at wiki and confirms that the old queens hospital building is still there in bath row..

morning mike no need to apologise i just wanted to confirm i had got it right as i dont always[Little LOL]

so astwood to recap..the building that was queens hospital bath row where your grandad died in 1929 is still there..nice to know that..makes a change from me banging on about how many fine buildings this city has lost and is still losing...oops im banging on again...[Little LOL]

I find it fascinating that the existing buildings of 1840 were already 100 years old when the new hospital opened in them. A fact that didn't prevent the amazing work and expansion that followed.
