Jo, I hope you realise that they grow in diameter as well as height?
I think they are a menace, tree surgeons, what a joke that is, must love them. They reach the maximum legal height within a few years and then have to be topped, but the tops are well out of reach by then.

Evening lyn,you just do that ,I will be putting up a bird table, and removing a cold frame ,the wood is now rotton so it will be going in the incinerator.Have you been in front the boss yet.
