I was very glad to see that two men have been caught for the Murder of the Merseyside Policeman killed by a hit and run driver.

Innocent until proven guilty.

Then batter them.

There is only one sentence for a Cop Killer, but nobody has the balls.

If the government had the guts to put it to the country ,it would be a resounding yes ,but they dont want to upset brussel's.

awful tragedy but would we be talking about it if the person killed was a tramp walking the streets...personally i think a life is a life no matter what walk of life we come from and the sentence for murder should be the same accross the board...

When a criminal murders someone in order to avoid capture or detection for another crime then the death penalty should apply. No one is ever forced to go on the run or to try and escape justice.
But to prevent a killing spree, said criminal should be sentenced to one year of agonising pain, prior to death, for evey innocent person they murder.

Correct Lyn, but a tramp walking the streets is not asked by us to intervene in a dangerous situation.

i agree SB but on the other hand anyone entering any of the services knows the dangers that can lie ahead when they sign up...i just dont think we can put a lower price tag on the head of an innocent member of the general public being murdered to that of a policeman and i certainly dont think the sentences meated out should be higher for a policeman....as hanging will never be bought back it should be life with no time off for good behaviour no matter who is murdered...of course this wont happen either this country has been getter softer by the year and it wont change...

I agree that every life is as important as any other. In a dangerous or Emergency situation most people are sent away out of danger. The emergency services are sent straight into them. Police are regarded as figures of authority representing all of us. if anyone is allowed to target Police, the rest of us have no chance or much of a chance of getting help.
