It's a pity this wasn't done with some others a couple of years ago.

i can't get excited about this at all......ie the fox and grapes 17th century grade listed that will be demolished to make way for the HS2..also the golden lion 16th century grade listed that has been left for years just rotting away in cannon hill park...grade listing any building means nothing to me and in no way shape or form secures the safety of buildings....if the land is wanted then the building will go...i wish the black horse many more years of pulling pints but won't hold my breath

Just think of all the takeaways you could cram into the space the Black Horse takes up.

Perhaps the Black Horse Northfield is only a mock tudor pub built in 1929
but it looks much older with a lovely interior and exterior and the most
important thing this pub has is customers A lot of old pubs have been
lost but it has been mainly through lack of trade so i think our pub will
be around for many more years to come i rest my case

i can only hope so astwood..we have lost so many and a lot of it depends on the area....the lack of customers in some pubs is due to the fact that the areas they are in are in non drinking communities now...that is fact im afraid..

One close to us quite an old pub ,closed for about 12 months ,even though it was well used ,suppose to be for the regeneration on the area ,but it's still closed and nothing has been done ,then a supermarket wanted the land ,and backed out at the last minute.
