I didn't realise that The Eagle was still running it's disco into the mid 80's. It must have been at the end of the 70's the last time I was in the Eagle.

I also have to confess that I never used it much myself, except Christmas times. At that time most of the temporary post office staff used it before or after work. Most of these were young students so it was a good place to hang out.

I also used to use it New years Eve shortly before taking my yearly swim in the fountain in Chamberlain Square. I think 63 or 64 might have been the last year I used it for that purpose as they started boarding up the fountain on New Years Eve. Spoilsports.
