We never had a vote to go into the European union in the first place.

We nearly did.
Edward Heath joined the EEC (Common Market) on our behalf in 1972/3. Harold Wilson held a referendum in 1975 to see if we wanted to stay in. It seems we did.
I'm too young to remember it, of course.

We were totally lied to when the referendum for the Common Market was held. We were told by the lying scheming politicians who were feathering their own nest that we were voting to enter a group of trading nations.
We were certainly NOT told that we were to enter a single entity that would make our laws and virtually govern us.
After that referendum This country has been continually screwed by the Eurocrats at every opportunity.
Any politician that wants us to be Europeans must have their own crooked interests at heart.

It might be that we would have had no one to borrow from in the first place in order to accumulate a debt.
I don't know what that would mean but I suspect it wouldn't matter if we weren't so tied to other counties in the first place.

My main complaint is all the ridiculous European rules and laws we have to comply with, simply because the army of Eurocrats have run out of better things to do.
