If they try to ban these substances they will sell them on the black market

Very true but at the moment they can be sold in shops. Crazy.

If they ban them ,I think the drug dealers will fill the gaps, so they will still be available to those who want them.

When I served on a Police committee, I was amazed at the success that Police have fighting the drugs trade. We must remember that with crime most of the police success is retrospective .

While agreeing completely that action is necessary, the problem may be on how to do it. Just banning any substance that is claimed to give a high (with presumably alcohol, caffeine & tobacco excepted) will not solve it.Some of these psychoactive compounds are sold ~(sometimes legally) for other purposes, and then word gets around amongst the idiots that they have other effects. No doubt some inventive person could make up a legal use for the material and then spread the word.. You can't have a positive list where there is a long list of substances are listed as illegal - that is what is there today, and the chinese chemists just tweek the compound to make something slightly different - it is , as i understand it, some of these tweekings that are the most dangerous, as a small difference in the compound's structure can make an enormous effect on how it affects you, sometimes a very deleterious effect . So some politician saying they are going to ban them just like that is likely to be as useful as the claims after WW2 that nuclear power will make electricity so cheap that its cost will approach zero. Lets gope some bright person can think of an effective way to do it, but ot won't be some useless pratt politician making a declaration

Thanks for your thoughts on that Mike. Lets hope all the right things are sorted and the Government take the right advice.

I went to the top of the World Trade Centre a couple of times and no one said anything about it.
