This is worth a look. Well before my time of course. But I do remember Snow Hill Station like this.

Not really I was 13 in 1963. I would have been train spotting in those days.

Helicopter Carriage, Donkey rides, Golden Arrow on the pier, the sounds inside the amusement arcade at the end of the pier, the shop I bought my fishing tackle from, it's all there.
We went to WSM throughout the sixties, initially by coach and later by car. A day trip to find accommodation for a week later in the year wasn't unusual.

its a pleasure volty...we used to go to rhyl every year via train from snow hill...so many lovely memories of the days when we didnt bother about what was going on in the world nor did we care

When we were kids could'nt afford holidays ,went a ride round the outer circle route , or the lickey hills ,that was our lot .

jo that was the case with so many...im the eldest of six kids and thinking about it now i dont know how mom and dad managed to take us away for a week most years....as you we also had day trips to the lickys and local parks...

We spent most of our holiday's at handsworth park ,mom would say home before dark a bottle of water and a cheese sandwich in news paper.
