well fancy you working at the roebuck jo...i always have trouble remembering the name of that one..

oh no volty no walking along soho road now...i only go there if transport is available (car) and history dictates...my rellies used to have the barrel pub for about 11 years early 1900s and a couple of years back i gritted my teeth and got some inside shots and out back of it....just in time...6 months later it was once again closed by police for persistant drug use and is now a lloyds chemist..oh i passed the pally again the other day...getting worse..

Two summers ago ,me and my son visited my sister who lives in new spring street hockley,driving down soho road my son said ,lock your door dad ,wind up your window don't feel safe here.

In the late 60 early 70 s me my first wife and the kid's use to walk down there every saturday shopping ,could'nt do it now.

Use to be a decent area ,but watched it go down ,when my childrens education started to suffer ,said it was time to move.

I am still looking for a picture of the pub that was No.7 Soho Hil.
It was called The Watt Tavern. Any assistance gratefully received.

The pub on the corner with Hamstead Rd may have been named for Dr Roebuck, an early business partner of James Watt.

very good chance of that volty thanks for that info...dont worry i am still on the hunt for a pic of watt tavern...there will be one out there somewhere..

The pub on the corner of hamstead road ,and soho hill was the roebuck , I worked there in the late 60 s use to have a flat at 123 soho hill ,think it was knocked down and a petrol station is now there, last time I past .
