I watched a programme recently about weather forecasting in england as opposed to australia, because our large land mass if the weather is coming from the north over desert is gonna be hot, from the south (antantic) gonna be cool, if a front is coming from the west it can take several days to pass through each state (3) so easier to predict, not much happens from the east.
yet in the uk because you are long and relatively narrow, they said it was hit and miss trying to predict where the rain would hit, whether that was their excuse i dont know.
but i have to say the last three times Ive been home the weather has been good, no rain and up around 25c, which is nice if your touring about, however my lasting memory from my younger days was, trying to defrost the lorries air brakes, scraping the ice of the windows, dark at 4pm - light at 9 am.

Remember one winter going back a few years ,the diesel in the feed pipes was freezing up over night, drivers wrapping paper round pipes, setting light to it ,hoping they did'nt set wagon on fire.
