what an idiot...got done under the public nuisance act...i agree with mike why was he not charged with dangerous driving and banned to me thats no different than driving along the motorway the wrong way..i also hope he was breathalised...

I suppose it might be affected by the fat that it was not on a public road. children are allowed to drive off-road, and maybe one cannot be charged with dangerous driving off road ?

I don't see why driving laws would apply.
The road traffic act applies only to the public highway.
There is no point in trying to apply it to private land because the police do not have access and in this case everyone on the track would already be breaking the law.
There are motor vehicle test tracks where dangerous driving is essential. Top Gear do it all the time on an airfield. Banger racing would never happen.
The motor sport driving licenses are also a private matter and have no bearing in law.

All sports have rules, having many cars on a track at speed would obviously have to be policed and of course not by the police or they would stop every car going over 70 mph.
