Rather an exageration from Tesco's half year. Only £250 million out.

No surprise really. They lie about their goods being cheaper, when often they aren't or are comparing their low quality crap with decent stuff, so it is to be expected that their accountants ( a breed trained to fiddle and manipulate everything they touch) should lie about their accounts

They also learned the Co-op trick of misdirection.
Put the wrong size product behind a label claiming that a certain other size of said product is on special offer.

Looks like they tried to misdirect the stock market.

I have just finished watching a sort of a doco, on Tesco managment. here we have two large supermarket chains, safeway/wooworths (not a part of safeway usa or woolworths uk) and coles, apparently theres around 6 ex tesco bosses in the top 10 of each company. lets hope they were not the ones who miss laid the money

Misslaid is definitely a euphemism. If they follow their habits in australia that thye learned in the UK, then you will soon get substandard products marked at a high price, then labelled " special reduction from.. "
