Jo My wife keeps Rabbits as pets. I have never had Rabbit stew or want it. She has looked after Rabbits in Cottontails Hotel for Rabbits. Trust me we would rather eat Slow Jo Stew and dunk mouldy bread in it.

That really suprises me ,meat rationing was last to stop after the war,so people would go into the country and trap wild ones to suppliment there meat ration, my dad and his mate who had a motorbike and sidecar, did his very often. If I caused any offence it was not on purpose and I apologise.

The only meat that was'nt rationed was offal, and if you were last in the queue you even missed that,so people did what was needed to feed there kids.

I would eat rabbit if it wasn't a pet bunny and I didn't already have more choices at the butchers than I am comfortable with. I might also go vegetarian.
But then I am a product of a time of plenty.
