for the last four weeks we have been state election mode, our federal government (tory) have been telling us here in the state of victoria that we would be mad to vote labour, we would lose $15 billion in federal government funding for infrastructure programmes - oops we voted labour YEH YEH. its the first one term state government since the early 50s - so they must have been bad. Today the prime minister is saying the election was fought on state issues and had nothing to do with federal polices. how they change their tune. he's a bit rattled as he has two years to run, in his first term and the balance of power is held by 6 independents and two greens so he cant get the bulk of he budget through as its very Maggie Thacher - maybe we can repeat the win federally
