Birmingham Onion fair

Anyone remember the onion fair at Aston. I think I went once with mom dad nan and granddad, but it was so long ago I can't really remember it. I'm sure someone on this forum will remember it better than me.

I went to the Onion fair as a kid but like Dennis can't remember much about it. It was a lot bigger than any other fair I had been to.

I have just read that Pat Collins used to be the owner of the onion fair. Pat was born 12 May 1859 and died 9 December 1943 Pat Collins fair is still going. When I was young I always went to Bob Wilsons fair and for a while worked there.

When we were kids we always went to Bob Wilsons Fair on Kents Moat park, it was a regular venue for years. I seem to remember my Brother in law Barry as an Electrician worked on Bob Wilsons narrow boat at Stratford.
