Thanks, yes I saw the news about the winds
Been leaving it later to leave and hopefully they will have all moved on. It's not a bad drive, but I usually go over the hills past Methyr rather than the motorway

Th only thing that interested me in that report was the red telephone box just visible at the edge of a photo.
I thought they had all been replaced.

still lots of working red boxes in use volty I've encountered quite a few on me travels...most recent one was in Skenfrith in Wales...

The drive to Permbroke was OK apart from driving over the hills and valleys road (I don't go on the motorway) where we hit a snow storm right at the top and then had to descend down on untreated roads. It was very disconcerting going down steep hills on ice!

Now back and ready for the storms predicted today. New years eve in a Rugby Club near Tidbury Green, should be interesting if the heavens open!

I have driven up and down those hills. Some look a bit scary from the top, even in summer. The gravel beds probably get a lot of use in winter.
