We do of course keep an open mind as he hasn't been tried or convicted yet.

We don't even know what he might have been accused of.
What we can guess at is that it will be some historical fabrication.

What i dont understand is this. If it was such a traumatic event back in the 60/70's why are people waiting until now. I do understand that it wasnt so easy then but we have been really open as a society for the last 20 years so someone should have stood up then and hopefully it would have prevented the likes of Jimmy Saville being able to continue the abuse. Just a thought peeps

As I remember the 60s-70s if a bloke was in a band or even if he was a mobile DJ, the young women would be queing up for them. Most of them were ready for a no holds barred rumble and they could get another one the next evening.
Compare that with the Schoolgirls of today who consider a baby to be a fashion accessory. There were three girls on my bus one day when I was on my way home from work. They were discussing one of there classmates, one said " oh that Nicola is so snobby she is the only one of our crowd who hasn't got pregnant". Sometimes I worry for my country. Everyday actually.

I thought Savilles victims had reported it several times and nothing was done, so he got away with it.

I do entirely agree with you both. It just seems a bit 'oh i wonder who we can pick on next' theme running through this investigation. Perhaps the police feel that as Lynne said these things were reported ang ignored so kets try and put ourselves in good light. It is the people who were truly abused and ignored that i feel sorry for. End of rant peeps

Pam is right about the attitude change. It isn't a recent thing so why wait until now. Anytime in the last 20 years would have elicited a different response to that expected in the 60s.
Why didn't they (the alleged victims) make their allegations a few years ago?
Simple, they are jumping on the band wagon in the hope it will turn into a gravy train.

As you both say, very true, but also possibly encouraged by supporters of the present government who are only too glad to use anything to criticise the BBC and the NHS, which they , parasites that they are, consider alien to their perfect feudal society
