I do still work for Charisma we moved to Colebrook Rd Tyseley about five years ago, and yes we do boatloads of hotel work. It our speciality. Erdogladys works with me.
I have found out since my last post, that Shirley Lido, was only in operation for around two years. It was then built over for munitions work in the War. SB

Well that certainly puts an era to the Lido, we will have to look out for more details as and when they pop up.
I bet there's loads of little mysteries all over our patch that are just waiting for some attention.

Did You Know?
About Fibonacci Numbers?

Named after Leonardo Pisano Fibonacci of Pisa, 1170 - 1250 (80/50), they are whole numbers with a unique relationship.
Each number in the series is the product of the two previous numbers.

The numbers are 1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,55,89,144,233,377, ad infinitum.
So we have 1+2=3, 3+5=8, 5+8=13, 8+13=21, 13+21=34, &c, &c.

This as all very nice, and perhaps of no use, until we are driven to consider the ridiculous measurements of distance used by johnny foreigner.
He likes Kilometres and we use miles. He is clearly deranged in his thinking but not withstanding his abberation we may wish to know of what he is thinkng in terms of distance.
This is simple if we apply Fibonacci's magic.
The greatly inferior Km is equal to just 5/8ths of our Statute Mile...

Thus:
8Km = 5 Miles
13Km = 8 Miles
21Km = 13 Miles
34Km = 21 Miles
55Km = 34 Miles
89Km = 55 Miles
144Km = 89 Miles
233Km = 144 Miles

You wil note how the mileage is always one Fibonacci Number lower than the kilometre, whilst the sequence runs true on each side.
This is sufficiently accurate to satisfy how much we care.

Not forgetting the amazing history just a couple of minutes walk from your house Volty, in one direction you have Blakesley Hall now a fine museum, complete with a very good visitor centre. There is a museum shop a nice cafe/tearoom, classrooms for kids, period gardens (well tended). Well worth a visit. (see website)
In the other direction we have St. Edburgha's Church (Yardley old Church) a really beautiful building, extremely well looked after. This church existed in its present form when Columbus discovered America.
Yardley Village is well worth a stroll around. This fine old parish was in Worcestershire when Brum was just a blot on the landscape. SB
