I agree with Mike, Aston Uni campus is quietly absorbing everything in it's locality. Look how much it has swallowed up since it's humble beginning as a technical college. In 1966 when it became a university you could walk around the whole college in about five minutes I don't think you could do it that fast in a car now.

i think they did look at building it on the east side until the plans for the new HS2 took priority

I suppose they thought it was helpful to have it near to the Museum & Art Gallery as that can be an educational resource for schools and others.

With me it's not so much the location but more the style of the building. If I had been on the planning team I would have been asking why Baskerville House could not have been extended in the same architectural style as the main building?
