lol denise..i must admit i was a tad stressed that day..mixed feelings that although very happy to have saved some of these blue bricks that are around 160 years old and sad at the thought that the site would soon be gone forever just goes to show though that we never know what history lies beneath our feet...still we have the pics which has to be worth having....after this dig had ended the archaeologists moved a little further over and dug up centenary square hoping to find evidence of the old canal basin but drew a blank on that one which was a shame...we know that the old wharf definately runs under baskerville house but thank goodness that building is safe for now....
