SB

As far as I understand it the Uni is paying for the pool, well why not they must be raking in a fortune with the fees now.

They will get the money for Bloody Sport . Its just the useful, historic and interesting things that don't get money. Why not use one of their thousands of football pitches for their pool ? (I know the answer to that, because its another bloody sport and is immune)

not really surprised about this to be honest...i mean lets face it we cant hang onto our pubs and other historic buildings that are 150 years plus old so what chance had this 70s pub....i am still attending the HS2 meetings to try and save the 17th century fox and grapes on park st/freeman st city centre and thats by no means safe...now thats what you call HISTORIC...

Sorry to say my old pub the Chestnut Tree is about to be Bulldozed that is sad it really was a good pub as Volty will testify. They have already started building houses in its car park.

Yes very sad, not just pubs but community centres, its how you got to know your neighbours better. For some an escape from the wife, that helped marriages last longer. A place to buy or sell anything ( and in our day that didn't mean Drugs).
